Introducing Nigerian Pidgin Bible New Testament

Nigerian Pidgin Language New Testament is a translation of the New Testament into Nigerian Pidgin (NP).

The translation project is being executed by Mercy Christian Ministry International (MCMI).

MCMI is a ministry whose activities include Bible translation and carrying out other activities that would help meet the spiritual and material needs of God’s people all over the word.

Over 70 million Nigerians speak and understand Nigerian Pidgin Language. The population of speakers of the language is still growing and the language is increasing in popularity.

There are several ways people speak Nigerian Pidgin, but this translation has been done using the Nigerian Pidgin that every NP speaker understands.

Mercy Christian Ministry International is placing the Nigerian Pidgin New Testament on the internet so that people could read it, be blessed by it and use it to teach God’s Word to NP Speakers. We also want readers of this translation not to hesitate in sending their comments to us. The hard copy of the translation will soon be published.

We need to briefly mention here that the Nigerian Pidgin Primer titled “Mek Wi Rid Naijiria Pijin” will soon be published.

The Primer will serve as a forerunner to the NPL New Testament. It will be used to teach non-literate Nigerian Pidgin speakers how to read and write in the language.

We advice that you first study the Nigerian Pidgin alphabet before reading the New Testament translation. This will help you know how to pronounce NP words.

As you read the translation of the New Testament into Nigerian Pidgin, we need to mention again that we do welcome your comments and inputs that would enhance the work we are doing for the Kingdom of God.

May our Lord bless you.
